I made a whirlwind trip home to Cape Breton this summer - out on a Thursday back before breakfast on Monday. I needed to see my grandmother - her health has steadily declined & she recently fell & broke her hip. She shouldn't have been out of bed, & we'll never know what she was up to - her Alzheimer's has progressed too far. I din't take pictures of us together this year - I choose not to remember her like this.
I timed the trip to connect with friends - my high school had a reunion. It was great to reconnect. Seriously - I truly enjoyed my time, although it was waay too short.
Anyhoo - a few pictures of the trip.
Our class shirt - can't believe he still has his.
Judique - where I went to school grade 4 - 12
& home of Judique on the Floor
JCHS Class of '84 - well half of us anyway

The cleanest beds, best food & friendliest staff in Cape Breton
Lovely view of the bay there, Tracey. :-)
ReplyDeleteWith regard to your grandmother, hugs and prayers to you. Alzheimer's is a cruel beast. I lost one of my grandmothers and my Dad to it. I've been down that road seeing loved ones suffer with it, and I know how difficult it is to watch.
It's good to see old friends and have a chance to go home again. I'm glad you got the opportunity to go. :-)
